Several Metro Manila roads flooded
MANILA, Philippines—Several roads were flooded following a sudden heavy downpour in Metro Manila Friday afternoon, a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority-Flood Control unit official said.
Michael Puya said gutter-level floods at 20 centimeter high was monitored along R. Papa, Rizal Avenue in Manila at 3:15 p.m., as well as at C4 Lescano J. Felipe Street along Gen. San Miguel.
Nonetheless, these roads were passable to all types of vehicles, Puya said.
Meanwhile, traffic was heavy along the northbound lane of EDSA, with the bumper-to-bumper line of cars starting from Malibay, Pasay all the way to Santolan, caused by the implementation of the Yellow Lane Policy along EDSA, Chris Almeron of MMDA’s Metrobase said.
Same goes for the southbound lane, he said, which was likewise congested with line of vehicles from EDSA-Paramount near SM North to Ortigas approaching flyover.
