MMDA: Number coding suspended on June 12, Independence Day

MANILA, Philippines — The number coding scheme will be suspended on Friday, June 12, as the nation marks the 128th Philippine Independence Day, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Wednesday.
“Pinapayuhan ng MMDA ang mga motorista na planuhin nang maaga ang inyong long weekend activities upang maiwasan ang anumang aberya sa paglalakbay,” MMDA said in an advisory.

“The MMDA advises all motorists to plan their long weekend activities to avoid travel woes,” the MMDA said in an advisory.
MMDA noted that the number coding scheme is automatically suspended during regular holidays and special non-working holidays.
Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1006 signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., June 12 is considered a regular holiday.
Meanwhile, the Metro Rail Transit 3 and Light Rail Transit 2 will treat passengers to free rides also on June 12, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. /gsg
