Multiple collision in Magallanes interchange
MANILA, Philippines–Traffic was snarled along Magallanes Interchange following a multiple collision in its southbound lane Thursday morning, a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA)-metrobase official said.
Alpha 6 Emma Loristo of metrobase said six vehicles, two private cars, two passenger taxi, one FX, and a passenger bus—collided with each other along the southbound lane of the Magallanes flyover towards Alabang around 7:41 a.m.
Lirosto said initial reports showed that the bus, with license plate (TYG 366) allegedly lost its brakes, causing it to hit the other involved vehicles that were all lined up in traffic in front of the bus.
“The collision was like a domino effect,” she said, adding that the incident has snarled traffic along the area with the stretch starting from Ortigas Metro Rail Transit station all the way to Magallanes.
No one was hurt, she said, except for the pregnant woman riding in one of the involved vehicles who complained of discomfort in his abdominal area.
MMDA team have responded to the area, she said.
