MANILA, Philippines — A thunderstorm warning in Metro Manila has been lifted as rains brought by a low pressure area and southwest monsoon eased up Thursday morning, the state weather bureau said.
However, despite an “improved weather,” the southwest monsoon continues to affect Luzon and Western Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Pangasinan, Zambales, Palawan, Mindoro Provinces and Samar Provinces will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the low pressure area being monitored off the Pacific dissipated, Pagasa said.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over Luzon and Western Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from southeast to south with slight to moderate seas.
