THE Metropolitan Cebu Water District joined the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) in holding the exhibit called “Pista ni San Juan ug Tubig.”

The exhibit opened last June 24 in time for the celebration of the feast of San Juan Bautista, the patron saint of the old district of Pari-an in Cebu.

Available for public viewing at the Casa Gorordo Museum gallery, the exhibit illustrated water as a heritage of the Bisaya and its role in the Filipino’s devotion to San Juan.

“Bisaya culture is closely linked to water, but today we suffer a lot because we are mismanaging this natural heritage and resource,” said Florencio Moreño II, the museum’s curator.

MCWD general manager Armando Paredes said the exhibit was relevant and timely as it fell on the same year the Buhisan Dam turned 100 years old.
