Marcos: Only Bato Dela Rosa would benefit from Senate remote voting
TOKYO, Japan — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday expressed disagreement with the proposal to allow remote voting of Senators even during nonemergencies, adding only Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa would benefit from it, as he is a fugitive from justice.
He made the remarks at a sit-down interview with reporters here as he concluded his four-day state visit.

“I disagree with that,” he said when asked for his thoughts on the matter.
He said this arrangement is only acceptable during COVID-19 restrictions, but he does not see any reason to implement that now.
Marcos stressed that if Dela Rosa wants to vote, then he should personally show up, adding that it has been a long-standing rule in the Senate that if a senator is not present, then he cannot vote. /mr
