A man was shot dead by a former co-worker while he ate in a carenderia in barangay Talamban, Cebu City.
Remegio “Galman” Estriba, a stay-in worker of Melah Jayne Trading, died on the spot with gunshot wounds in the chest and left arm.
The suspect, Edgardo Chan, 40, a native of Mindanao, fled after the attack, said police. Police said the two men bore grudges against other.
Police said Chan previously worked at Melah Jane Trading. Because of their misunderstanding, Chan resigned a month ago.
Chan then worked as a stay-in helper of an eatery near the store where he previously worked. Police said Estriba was a regular customer of the eatery where he was heard several times bashing Chan.
Jucy Desamparado, owner of the eatery, said there were times when Estriba would tell other customers not to eat in the eatery as Chan might poison them.
Desamparado said Edgar Estribo was also heard telling other people that Chan killed his own father.
Eric Caputol, a mechanic of a nearby automotive shop and a regular customer at the eatery, confirmed that Estriba was bashing Chan.
Around 6 a.m. yesterday, Estriba was eating in another eatery when he was shot. Chan was seen walking away from the eatery and rode a tricycle headed for Mandaue City.
