PHARMACY DIES IN ROAD ACCIDENT
A 33-YEAR-OLD pharmacy worker was killed after the motorcycle he drove collided with a 10-wheeler truck in barangay Tabok, Mandaue City.
Ricky Cortes was driving home prior to the accident at dawn yesterday.
Bibiano Temonio, 39, driver of the truck with plate number YDS-752, surrendered to the police after the accident.
Temonion, a native of Tubigon, Bohol, said the collision happened when the motorcycle encroached the other lane as it tried to overtake another vehicle.
Temonio said he tried to step on the brake but it was too late.
Cortes was pinned under the truck. He was brought to the Mandaue City Hospital where he was declared dead by the attending physician.

MAN FOUND DEAD
THE body of a man was found floating in the waters off barangay Talaga, Argao town, southern Cebu.
Police identified the fatality as Almorico Villafuerte, 65.
The body was found in a knee-deep portion of the water about 30 meters from the shoreline at 10 a.m. yesterday.
Police said there were no signs of foul play in the man’s death.
Police said the man’s house was built in a knee-deep portion of the water where there are mangroves planted.
