MANILA, Philippines—The Makati City government suspended the motor vehicle reduction system and sent government employees home at 4 p.m. Tuesday due to the inclement weather.

In a text message to the Inquirer, Makati information chief Joey Salgado said City Hall employees could leave their offices early except those involved in disaster management and rescue operations.

Only Makati lifted the motor vehicle number coding scheme in Metro Manila. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has yet to issue a similar order.
