MANILA, Philippines—Several roads in Metro Manila are experiencing “heavy” traffic “generally” caused by the bad weather, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said Tuesday.

Rey Dumol of the MMDA metro base said the northbound lane along Whiteplains to P. Tuazon in Quezon City is currently experiencing a traffic gridlock, as well as at the same lane along Taft Rotonda.

A stretch of bumper-to-bumper traffic was also monitored from C5 Boni Serrano to Libis, Dumol said.

“The heavy traffic situation is generally caused by the bad weather because motorists are moving slowly to prevent getting into an accident due to slippery roads,” he said.

He added the heavy traffic along EDSA’s southbound lane from SM North to Pinatubo was also because of the volume of vehicles.
