MANILA, Philippines—Motorists are advised to take alternate routes as several areas in Metro Manila were flooded due to incessant rains since past midnight Tuesday, a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority-Flood Control unit official said.

MMDA-Flood Control unit official Eddie Garcia (no relation to the actor) said a gutter-level flood at 20 centimeter-high was monitored along Quezon Boulevard underpass near Isetann-Recto since 8:00 a.m.

“Still, the road is passable to all type of vehicles,” he said.

A 25-cm high flood, on the other hand, was monitored along streets Andalucia/Laong laan in Sampaloc around 9:20 a.m., and along Malakas Street in V. Luna, Quezon City since 5 a.m.

These roads are not passable to all types of vehicles, Garcia said.

He said floodwaters were also monitored along EDSA Tuazon, Talayan Creek in Araneta, and along the vicinity of the Manila City Hall earlier Tuesday, but have all subsided.
