Classes in public, private schools in Makati suspended

MANILA, Philippines—Classes in pre-school, elementary and high school levels—public and private—were suspended in Makati due to bad weather, the city administrator announced on Tuesday.

City administrator Marjorie de Veyra  had earlier ordered the suspension of classes in five flood-prone’ villages in the city—San Antonio,  La Paz, Sta. Cruz, Pio del Pilar, and Singkamas.

“These are flood-prone barangays,” de Veyra said.

The city administrator immediately informed the   Department of Education and village officials about the class suspension.
