Vlogger linked to President Marcos’ fake medical test posts bail
MANILA, Philippines — Vlogger Jeffrey Luces Celiz or “Ka Eric Celiz” surrendered to the Pasig Regional Trial Court’s (RTC) Branch 119 on Tuesday and posted bail of P36,000 for his temporary freedom in connection with the “unlawful publication” case filed against him.
He and former broadcaster Jay Sonza are accused of spreading a fake medical record supposedly of President Marcos. In a Viber message to the Inquirer, Celiz’s counsel, Mark Tolentino, said that his client was released around 11 a.m.
In a Facebook post, Tolentino said: “We remain committed to the rule of law and to the faithful observance of all constitutional guarantees, including the presumption of innocence and the right to due process.” On Monday, Sonza was released after he posted a P10,000 bail before the Pasig RTC Branch 118.

The National Bureau of Investigation filed charges against the pair in February, accusing them of unlawful publication and cyberlibel based on their online posts on Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 showing the results of a CT scan supposedly belonging to Mr. Marcos.
The hospital which allegedly conducted the test, however, said that the report was fake while the Palace also issued a denial. —MARY JOY SALCEDO
