Based on information relayed to the Inquirer by Barangay 2, Poblacion councilor Hilarion Gracias Nacario, several homes in the area were damaged. But the exact number remains unclear as the assessment is still ongoing, in line with the municipal government’s directive.
He also said the centuries-old Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Church sustained visible cracks due to the quake.
“Power was temporarily cut for about 10 minutes following the quake,” Nacario said in an online interview.
He added that Monday’s tremor is the strongest to hit the town, which has a population of over 14,000 across 14 barangays, since the magnitude 6.5 earthquake in April 2019./coa
