Heat index in Dagupan City soars to 44ºC, highest on Wednesday, April 29

MANILA, Philippines — Dagupan City in Pangasinan recorded the highest peak index on Wednesday, April 29, at 44ºC, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
According to Pagasa, heat index refers to how hot it actually feels to the human body when air temperature and humidity are combined.
Once it ranges from 42ºC to 51ºC, Pagasa automatically categorizes it as “danger” level due to increased risks of heat cramps and heat exhaustion, which could then lead to heat stroke.
