Both victims in QC road shooting die – police

MANILA, Philippines — Both victims aboard a hatchback car, which was shot by two unidentified motorcycle-riding perpetrators in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon, have died.

In a statement on Tuesday night, the QCPD identified the victims by the aliases “Norberto,” 51; and “Ceferino,” 75.

Norberto was the driver of the hatchback car, while Ceferino was the passenger.

The motorcycle-riding perpetrators had opened fire on the vehicle as it plied Timog Avenue near Epifanio delos Santos Avenue at around 4:10 p.m.

Both victims were initially brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.

Norberto was declared dead on arrival at 4:49 p.m., while Ceferino was declared dead at 6:55 p.m.

“A thorough and ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine the identities and whereabouts of the suspects and to establish the motive behind the incident. Police operations have been intensified to ensure the swift arrest of those responsible,” the city police maintained.

“The QCPD extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and assures the public of its unwavering commitment to bring the perpetrators to justice and uphold peace and order in the community,” it added. /cb
