Jobseekers, entrepreneurs flock to Go Negosyo fair

MANILA, Philippines — As hundreds of jobseekers and small entrepreneurs flocked to SM City Fairview on April 25 for Go Negosyo’s Trabaho at Negosyo job fair and MSME mentoring event, Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion said increased effort will be poured into more nationwide events for the massive movement of providing jobs and livelihoods for Filipinos.
Trabaho at Negosyo is set to expand to the provinces as the country’s biggest malls come onboard to support the program. It will mount its next event at SM Seaside City in Cebu this coming May 9.
“Trabaho at Negosyo adds the critical layer of entrepreneurship: this means proposing to jobseekers that they can become not just the ones looking for employment but eventually be the people who can create jobs,” said Concepcion. MSMEs generate more than half (66.57 percent) of the jobs in the country.

Concepcion added that the program supports the “People” pillar of the country’s chairship of the Asean Business Advisory Council (Asean-BAC), where MSMEs, youth, women, and human capital complement the three other pillars of Planet, Platform, and Productivity. Concepcion is the 2026 chair of the Asean-BAC.
Held in partnership with private sector sponsors, national agencies, and local governments, Trabaho at Negosyo is a job-matching activity held alongside free mentoring of MSMEs from the community. —CONTRIBUTED
