Farmer, believed drunk, drowns while swimming in Pangasinan

ALAMINOS CITY, Pangasinan – A 58-year-old farmer from this city drowned at the Hundred Islands National Park, where he reportedly drank liquor and went swimming.

Police report showed that the victim was staying at a rented cottage on Quezon Island on Wednesday. In the afternoon, while his daughter was cooking, he went for a swim.

The daughter, 27, later noticed her father floating face down and was unresponsive.

The victim was immediately rescued and brought to Western Pangasinan District Hospital for medical attention but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. /das
