Caap eyes deployment of firefighting vehicles at regional airports

MANILA, Philippines—The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) on Monday said it plans to deploy new aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicles at regional airports to enhance emergency response capabilities.
In a statement, Caap said an Oshkosh Striker 6×6 fire truck was brought to Laoag International Airport on April 19, with another unit delivered to Puerto Princesa International Airport on April 18.
“Each ARFF vehicle is equipped with advanced firefighting systems, including a 12,500-liter water tank, 1,750 liters of aqueous film-forming foam, and 250 kilograms of dry chemical powder, ensuring a rapid, efficient, and effective response to aviation-related emergencies,” the agency added.
