MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Sunday said several transport network companies (TNCs) have reduced their commissions from driver- partners in response to rising oil prices.

This is after the TNCs met with the LTFRB Chairperson Vigor Mendoza II and discussed the lowering of the commission last week.

“The commission reduction reached the maximum of 10 percent and at least three of the TNCs even went to the extent of waiving all their commission on temporary basis until the transport sector recovered,” the LTFRB said in a statement.

Mendoza commended the TNCs, tagging the reduced commissions as a “big boost” towards the efforts of the national government to maximize the necessary assistance to the public transport sector.

“This is really commendable and I extend my sincerest gratitude to these TNCs for heeding the call to give their share in helping the public transport sector. Malaking tulong ito sa mga TNVS partners sa panahon ngayon na talagang mahal ang diesel at gasolina (this is a big help to TNVS partners at a time when diesel and gasoline prices are really high).,” said Mendoza.

The cuts implemented by TNCs are as follows:
