The B-Meg Llamados snapped their two-game skid and earned themselves a semifinal slot after they survived the pesky Powerade Tigers with a, 108-98 overtime win last night in an out-of-town game of the 37th PBA Governors’ Cup at the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation in Legazpi City, Albay.
The Llamados finished the elimination round with six wins and three losses, joining four other semifinalists.
First to book the semis berths were the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, Talk ’N Text Tropang Texters, Petron Blaze Boosters and the Barangay Ginebra Kings.
With B-Meg’s win, only one semis slot is left, which could be taken in today’s final elimination round playdate at the Araneta Coliseum.
In the first game, the Meralco Bolts gun for a big win against the Barako Bull Energy while Rain or Shine takes on Talk ’N Text in the main game.
With four wins and four losses, Meralco is currently at sixth place and could take the last semis spot with a win against Barako.
After the loss yesterday, the Tigers ended the elimination round with a 4-5 (win-loss) record.
Barako Bull, Meralco and Powerade could end up with 4-5 records if the Energy come out victorious against the Bolts.
A tie for the sixth spot will broken via a playoff game.
Talk ’N Text and Rain or Shine, on the other hand, are still expected to go all out although their encounter will be a battle between teams already assured of semis spots.
Rain or Shine occupies the number one spot with seven wins with only a single defeat but the Painters are still pressed to improve their record since the semifinalists’ elimination record will be carried over to the semis.
Talk ’N Text totes a 5-3 slate.
