THE MAPFRE Insular Insurance Corporation’s (MIIC) Go Run for Road Safety will kick off today starting at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.
The running event, which features 100-meter and 200m dash events and 1-kilometer, 3k, 6k and 12k categories, aims to promote MIIC’s advocacy for road safety in the country. The race is held In cooperation with the Department of Education and the Cebu City government.
The route passes through the Banilad Road to Cabancalan, Mandaue City and vice versa.
Race director Joel Baring will prohibit foreign runners from joining the race to give way to local elite runners. Prizes await winners except in the 100m and 200m dash events./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
