A 23-year-old mother from Locatha, barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City has hemangiopericytoma, a rare tumor that grows in her left thigh.
Darlene Mae Brigoli has been suffering from the illness since the past two years when she felt pain on her left knee, where a mass started to appear.
She sought medication and was given medicines by her physician, but had to stop the treatment when she got pregnant.
The mass gradually increased in size until she could hardly walk. She is now admitted at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. Darlene needs to undergo above the knee amputation to remove the tumor.
However, she cannot afford the needed funds for her surgery and the post-operative medicines, wheelchair and prosthesis.
She has no job and her husband is only a laborer.
Despite her predicament, Darlene continues to dream of giving her two children a bright future.
Darlene is asking kindhearted individuals to help her by donating for her surgery and other needs.
