DUTCH NATIONAL FOUND DEAD
A Dutch national was found dead in his rented apartment in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City.
Police identified the fatality as Hendricus Andrianus, 44.
There were no signs of struggle inside the room where the foreigner was found dead by his helper Jumar Icot on Thursday night, said Senior Insp. Wilson Abot, chief of the Basak police.
According to Icot, the Dutchman complained of chest pains a few hours before he was found.
Icot told police that Andrianus started drinking heavily after his Filipina girlfriend left him early this year.

A-59-YEAR-OLD farmer was shot and wounded by his brother-in-law in barangay Laaw, Borbon town, northern Cebu.
Manuel Pogoy was rushed to a Cebu City hospital with a gunshot wound in the shoulder.
Police arrested Godofredo Monares shortly after the shooting last Thursday.
Police said the two men argued over who was the rightful owner of a mahogany tree.
Appropriate charges will be filed against Pogoy, said police. CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
FARMER HACKED IN DRINKING SPREE
A 36-YEAR-OLD fisherman was hacked and wounded by a friend after they argued in a drinking session in barangay Looc-Norte , Asturias town, southwest Cebu.
Dorito Caballero sustained hack wounds in the head and body.
The suspect, Mark Pangan, fled after the attack, said police.
Police said the two men were drinking with friends along the shore when they got into an argument.
It was not immediately known what the quarrel was about.
Pangan took a bolo, repeatedly hacked Caballero before fleeing, said PO2 Cesar Climaco, desk officer of the Asturias police.

MAN STABBED IN CARRETA CEMETERY
A MAN was stabbed in the belly by his neighbor while he was walking in the Carreta cemetery in Cebu City.
Daryl Mendoza, 25, survived the attack which police said was motivated by a personal grudge.
Police said Mendoza and the suspect Bernie Zuñega figured in a heated argument before the attack yesterday morning.
Mendoza was a carrying a chicken cage while walking inside the Carreta cemetery when he was stabbed.
Zuñega’s father Sylvestre was wounded in the left arm when he tried to stop his son.
The wounded persons were brought to a Cebu City hospital while the suspect fled, said police. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
