Hit-and-run bus kills man in QC
A security guard was killed after being sideswiped by a speeding bus in Barangay Lagro, Quezon City, Thursday night. PO3 Ferdinand Paglinawan of the city police’s traffic enforcement group identified the victim as Mario Villegas, 62. The man was on his way home with coworkers to Camarin II, Caloocan City, at around 7:15 p.m. when hit by the bus (TXR-765) on Regalado Avenue. One of Villegas’ coworkers said the bus, which came from Commonwealth Avenue, just kept going toward SM Fairview after hitting the victim as he about to cross the road. Nancy C. Carvajal
Korean woman found dead
A Korean woman was found dead and half-naked in her condominium unit in Mandaluyong City on Thursday afternoon. The body of Lee Ru Da Lee, 32, a resident of Pioneer Highlands at the corner of Pioneer Street and Madison Avenue, was discovered by friends who came to check on her after she failed to return their phone calls earlier that day, said Mandaluyong chief of police Senior Supt. Armando Bolalin. The door was closed but not locked and the condo showed no signs of forced entry when her friends got there at around 2 p.m. “Pending autopsy results, we have not yet determined the cause of death or if foul play was involved,” the police chief said.
