LTFRB: Drivers without fuel subsidy can now register via QR code

MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday said drivers who have yet to receive their fuel subsidy may now register via a QR code to claim their payout.

“In this way, it is no longer necessary to personally go to the agency’s office to register, ” the LTFRB said in Filipino in an issued advisory.

With this, the agency continues to provide help to the drivers and operators in view of the rising cost of fuel that affects many livelihoods. 

Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez earlier said that 245,066 drivers and operators of 1,180,783 PUV units, including modern and traditional jeepneys, point-to-point buses, school buses, Filcabs, UV Express, tricycles and delivery services will start receiving the fuel subsidy nationwide starting March 24.

The payout, which is allocated around P2.5 billion, ranges from P1,500 to P10,000 depending on the mode of PUVs.

Below are the details of the program:

• Public utility bus (PUB) operators (21,086 units): P10,000 (through fuel subsidy ca/manager’s check/bank accounts/e-wallet)
• PUB drivers (21,086): P5,000 (through cash or e-wallet accounts)
• Minibus operators (1,138 units): P9,000 (through fuel subsidy ca/manager’s check/bank accounts/e-wallet)

• P2P operators (824 units): P10,000 (through fuel subsidy ca/manager’s check/bank accounts/e-wallet)
• P2P drivers (824): P5,000 (through cash or e-wallet accounts)
• School transport operators (4,351 units): P5,000 (through fuel subsidy ca/manager’s check/bank accounts/e-wallet)
