THE YMTEC team of Dodong Elizalde logged its third straight victory after drubbing AAN, 85-67 last Sunday in the ongoing elimination round of the Sambag 2 Basketball Athletics Association (S2BAA) dubbed as Belarmino’s 1st Founder’s Cup basketball tournament at the sitio Kawayan covered court in barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City.
AAN had a precarious five-point lead 19-14 in the opening period and padded its advantage to 10 at the half 38-28 behind former Cebu Gems cager Michael Almonte who exploded for 20 points in that stretch out of his total 30 markers. He also dished out five assists and ripped down seven rebounds.
Almonte however, got little support from his teammates as YMTEC overhauled its deficit in the third then whipped up a furious offensive storm in the fourth behind Dodong Elizalde and pointguard Bebot Ancot to cruise to their 3rd win. YMTEC is leading the team standings with a 3-0 record.
In other games, Aying Sportswear crushed McMill of Macky Hapitan, 98-88 while JJ-ANN routed Mandado, 120-99.
