Sara Duterte warns against fake emails ‘not connected to our office’

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday warned the public against fake emails falsely claiming to be from her or her office.

Duterte issued the warning after her office received reports of individuals receiving emails claiming to be from the vice president or her office.

According to Duterte, one of those email addresses is vicepresidentsaraa@gmail.com, which she branded as fake.

“I would like to clarify that this email address is not my personal account and is not connected to our office,” said Duterte in a statement.

She then called on the public to be vigilant and exercise caution when dealing with randomly received emails and to not provide any sensitive information or respond to any requests coming from it.

Duterte then stressed that official communications from her office are coursed only through its verified social media pages and official email address: vp@ovp.gov.ph. /mr
