MCWD warns vs new modus operandi of meter thieves

/ 07:33 AM June 27, 2012

THE Metropolitan Cebu Water District is warning the public not to fall prey to the new modus operandi of meter thieves.

The water district received a report that some unscrupulous individuals visited a consumer, pretending to be MCWD employees and said they would replace their meter with a new one. But the consumer noticed that the vehicle they were using did not bear the water district’s logo. Also, they were not bringing a replacement meter.

Water service processing and inspection division manager Joselito Vidal advised the public to always ask for a job order in case someone offers to replace their water meter.
