LOCAL tennisters will now have an avenue to hone their skills via the Future’s Tennis Program, which comes off the wraps on Saturday at the Cebu Country Club.
The program, an initiative of Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) regional vice president Jess Lagman, will start with two age groups—the boys 12 and the girls 14 classes.
These two classes were the age-groups that gathered a lot of local participants in the recently held Gullas Cup.
The program will start with a monthly competition that will be scheduled in two weekends. This will be held for several months.
Those who show exemplary performance in the competitions will be put in a training pool to undergo further training.
The program will be supervised by Lagman’s son Julian and Fabby Borromeo with coach Fritz Tabura handling the technical side.
The monthly competition will start this Saturday with the registration fee pegged at P150.
Deadline for registration is this Friday. Those interested can call Tabura at 0933-641-4084. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
