Signal No. 1 raised over Cagayan, Isabela as ‘Dindo’ heads towards northern Luzon

MANILA, Philippines—Public storm signal No. 1 has been raised over the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela as Tropical Storm “Dindo” heads towards extreme northern Luzon.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Dindo was estimated at 480 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes as of 4 a.m. Wednesday.

It was packing maximum winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of 80 kilometers per hour.

It was forecast to move west northwest at 19 kilometers per hour.

Dindo will enhance the southwest monsoon which will bring rains over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao especially the western section, said Pagasa.

Dindo is expected to be at 330 kilometers northeast of Casiguran, Aurora by Thursday morning and at 130 kilometers south of Basco, Batanes by Friday morning. Frances Mangosing
