The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office has dismissed for lack of evidence the charges of falsification and use of falsified documents filed by former actress Nadia Montenegro against talent manager Annabelle Rama.
Earlier, Montenegro accused Rama of forging her signatures in her two daughters’ management contracts with a television network.
Montenegro claimed in her complaint that she never signed any contract which authorized Rama to manage the show biz careers of her daughters.
But in a resolution dated June 18, Assistant City Prosecutor Diovie Macaraig-Calderon noted that Montenegro’s signatures on the supposedly forged documents, when compared to samples she provided the court, appeared to have been written by the same person.
This was based on the results of a handwriting analysis conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation upon Montenegro’s request.
“After a careful consideration of the foregoing, the undersigned finds and so holds that there is no probable cause to charge the respondent Rama with the above mentioned offense,” the prosecutor said.
Montenegro’s complaint was just one of several she filed against the talent manager.
Earlier, she charged Rama with 14 counts of libel over the supposedly libelous statements the talent manager made against her on her Twitter account and in TV interviews.
The other day, Rama pleaded not guilty during her arraignment on the libel charges.
The court, however, ordered both parties to undergo a 30-day mediation period in the hope that the two women would be able to reach an amicable settlement.
