MANILA, Philippines – The driver of a wayward taxicab was injured along with a bystander in a road accident in Quezon City Monday.

A Radyo Inquirer 990AM report quoted traffic field investigator Vicente Marasigan as saying that Sonny dela Cruz, driver of the taxi with plate number TWL-139, may have fallen asleep while driving, causing him to lose control of his vehicle in front of SM North EDSA.

Marasigan said that the front of the taxi was a total wreck and all of its tires blew out when it rammed the railings in front of the shopping mall.

It also hit a still unidentified man who was walking near the mall.

Both of those injured have been brought to the Quezon City General Hospital for medical treatment.
