P22.45-M drugs seized, 2 nabbed in Makati City

MANILA, Philippines — Suspected drugs worth a total of P22.45 million were confiscated, and two individuals were arrested by authorities in Makati City, the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG) said.
Operatives tracked down the two individuals last Thursday afternoon at a condominium complex in Barangay Poblacion, the police detailed in a statement on Monday.
It identified the two arrested individuals as “Muhammad,” 24; and “Jobyann,” 21, both allegedly high-value suspects. It did not immediately explain how they were related.

According to the DEG, authorities confiscated 2.5 liters of suspected pure ecstasy oil; 3 liters of suspected liquid shabu (crystal meth); 501 pieces of ecstasy tablets; 26 grams of shabu; 21 pieces of pipe marijuana oil; and 11 pieces of marijuana cartridges.
“The arrested suspects are now under the temporary custody of PNP DEG, SOU–NCR (Special Operations Unit–National Capital Region) for documentation and proper disposition; thereafter, will be brought to Makati City Police Station custodial facility,” the police explained.
“The confiscated drug evidence will be turned over to the PNP Forensic Group, Camp Crame, Quezon City for laboratory examination,” it added. /cb
