MMDA: No number coding on Chinese New Year
MANILA, Philippines — The number coding scheme is suspended on Tuesday, Feb. 17, the Chinese New Year, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced.
[In an advisory issued on Friday, MMDA said, “The implementation of the expanded number coding scheme is suspended on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, a special non-working holiday, in celebration of the Chinese New Year.”
This means that even cars with plate numbers ending in “3” and “4” will be allowed on major roads on Tuesday.
