Camiguin Airport runway flooded, 2 flights canceled

MANILA, Philippines – Two flights to and from Camiguin Airport were canceled due to a flooded runway caused by Tropical Depression Basyang, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) said on Friday.

Rains brought by the tropical depression caused an adjacent creek to overflow and flooded Runway 07/25.

Two Cebu Pacific flights were canceled, namely:

  • DG6695 – Cebu to Camiguin
  • DG6696 – Camiguin to Cebu

The cancellation affected a total of 67 passengers, according to Caap.

Meanwhile, Caap released a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) informing pilots of the runway closure. The NOTAM is effective until 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Caap advised passengers to coordinate with their respective airlines for flight schedules and to prioritize safety. /gsg
