Recto urges new officials to uplift lives of Filipinos

MANILA, Philippines — Executive Secretary Ralph Recto has reminded newly sworn public officials to serve with the goal of uplifting the lives of Filipinos.
He made the remarks as he administered the oath of office to over 58 newly appointed public officials on Thursday at Malacañang.
“This is not a title to elevate oneself. It is a vow to humble oneself to elevate the people,” he said in his speech, as quoted in a press release on Friday.

Recto also told the officials that their appointments are not a reward or a badge of privilege and that their names are now tied not only to themselves but to the reputation of the administration and the trust of the public.
Additionally, Recto urged the appointees to uphold the highest standards of governance. /das
