Beautician arrested while collecting ‘jueteng’ bets in Abra

MANILA, Philippines—A beautician allegedly involved in gambling operations was arrested in Bangued, Abra, on Tuesday, a Philippine National Police regional spokesman said.

Superintendent Engelbert Soriano of the Police Regional Office Cordillera identified the suspect as Fatima Bondame, 39, of Capitulacion Street, Calabad, Bangued, Abra.

Soriano said Bondame was caught while collecting “jueteng” (numbers game) bets on the streets of Calabad. Also recovered in her possession were jueteng paraphernalia.

Bondame was to be charged appropriately, Soriano said.—Frances Mangosing, INQUIRER.net
