Most wanted carjacker in northern Luzon nabbed

MANILA, Philippines—One of the most wanted carjackers in northern Luzon was arrested Wednesday morning, the director of the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group said.

Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina said Efren Guisoben was arrested by elements of Highway Patrol Group Cordillera at Burnham Park in Baguio City. He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Cleto Villacorta of Regional Trial Court Branch 6 in Baguio City.

Guisoben is a member of the notorious “Bannawi Carnapping Sydicate” categorized as “Hardcore Criminal Group Level One” under the 2011 watchlist on carjacking.

The group is involved in carjacking private vehicles which they convert into FX taxis. With Danica Hermogenes
