10 remain missing from sunken ferry off Basilan town

PAGADIAN CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR– Ten people, including the boat captain, seven crew members, and a PCG Sea Marshal, remain missing following the sinking of the M/V Trisha Kerstin 3 off Baluk-baluk Island early Monday morning, Philippine Coast Guard officials said.

Although the manifest listed 332 passengers, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan clarified that 15 did not board the vessel, bringing the actual count to 317 passengers and 27 crew members, or 344 people on board.
To date, authorities have rescued 316 individuals and recovered 18 bodies, with search and rescue operations ongoing for the missing./coa
