TD Ada moving slowly over PH Sea, expected to weaken further – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Ada is moving east-southeast over the Philippine Sea, and is expected to weaken into a low pressure area by Wednesday, the state weather bureau said.
In its bulletin issued at 5 p.m on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the center of Ada was tracked some 465 kilometers (km) east of Casiguran, Aurora with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, gustiness of up to 70 kph, and is slowly moving east-southeast.
“Ada is forecast to move generally east northeastward for the next 24 hours before turning eastward to east southeastward from tomorrow (January 20) evening until Wednesday (January 21). Continuous dry air entrainment from the northeast monsoon is expected to result in gradual weakening of Ada. It may be downgraded into a low pressure area by Wednesday, although earlier weakening remains possible,” said Pagasa.
No wind signal has been hoisted due to Ada, but due to the surge of the northeast monsoon, strong to gale-force gusts may be experienced in the following areas:
