Robbery suspect in Laguna nabbed
MANILA, Philippines — A man who robbed a dentist in Laguna in March this year has been caught, police said Wednesday.
Citing a provincial police report, Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Philippine National Police spokesman, said that Biñan police arrested 42-year-old Richard Gamboa at around 11:30 a.m. in Biñan, Laguna.
Cruz said that Gamboa was positively identified by Dr. Eva Marie Olbes, whose clinic he robbed last March 29 in Paciano, Calamba City.
He said authorities arrested Gamboa for possessing a stolen 2008 model Hyundai Tucson, a .9-millimeter caliber pistol, and two fake PNP IDs which bore his name.
Several motor vehicle registration plates, a police uniform, and a replica of an M16 baby armalite rifle were also confiscated by police, Cruz added.
Still citing the police report, the spokesman said that Olbes had been hogtied before she was robbed of cash and other valuables from her clinic in Calamba City.
