THE management of J Centre Mall in barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City yesterday gave the city government P18 million as advance payment for its business tax.
“This is our gesture of support to the present administration in implementing the Albaño Road and drainage project so that traffic in the area will be eased up,” said Justin Uy, president of Everjust Realty Development, after the turnover of the check.
All business establishments are obliged to pay the city the annual business tax which is 40 percent of one percent of the company’s gross sales.
Albaño Street, located at the side of J Centre Mall, connects M. L. Quezon St. and A.S. Fortuna St. and is one of the alternative routes during heavy traffic in these areas.
The city government plans to widen the six-meter two-lane street by four meters more.
