Two suspected drug pushers were arrested in an entrapment operation that led to the seizure of around P7 million to P8 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or “shabu,” in Pasig City Thursday morning.
Senior Inspector Virgelio Santiago, head of the Eastern Police District (EPD) anti-illegal drugs unit, told the Inquirer that charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act would be filed Friday against Theng Musa Bagundang and Nasser Piang Guiabar.
Santiago said that members of the EPD Special Operations Task Group had received a tip about the two men’s illegal activities, prompting them to set up an entrapment operation. An undercover policeman then contacted the two and asked if he could buy P18,000 worth of shabu.
A meeting was set on F. Manalo Street in Barangay (village) San Nicolas at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, leading to the two men’s arrest and the seizure of 1.5 kilos of drugs found inside their silver Revo (XJK 864).—Kristine Felisse Mangunay
