Call center agent robbed, raped

An 18-year-old female call center agent was robbed and then raped by two unidentified men in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City.

Police said the victim was on her way home from work when two knife-wielding men waylaid her past 1 a.m. last Monday.

Police said the victim was 500 meters away from her house when she chanced upon two men, who asked her for the time.

Suddenly, one of the men grabbed the victim’s arms, poked a knife at her and declared a holdup.

The woman was dragged to a dark area where private vehicles were parked.

After taking the woman’s belongings, the two men took turns raping the woman.

The assailants took the victim’s clothes with them when they fled.

The woman, while shouting for help, ran to their house covering herself with a jacket.

Some neighbors who saw the woman running naked helped her dress up.

PO1 Maria Fe Pedros, investigator of Women’s Desk of the Basak police precinct, said the woman was brought to a hospital for a medical checkup.

Police said they suspect that the assailants live in the area and could be members of a youth gang.

Police produced a profile sketch of one of the culprits but would not release it to the media while operations to arrest the violators were in progress.
