Camota posts tournament-high 63 points in PPBC hoop

HOTSHOT Erik Camota posted a tournament record 63 points to power Blessel Enterprises of Edgar Camota to a, 105-97 win over I-Cash Lending Investor of Sherwin Lequit last Monday night in the team’s farewell game in the Punta Princesa Basketball Cup (PPBC)-2012, 2nd Conference basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial gym.

Blessel closed its campaign with a 6-6 win-loss record.

Blessel jumped to a, 30-21 start behind Camota who exploded with 23 points in that stretch. But the Lenders waxed hot in the 2nd period and responded with a, 22-16 rally behind Jun Felicitas and bull-strong center Rey Jumamil to close the gap at, 43-46 at the half. They still trailed by three, 66-69 heading to the payoff canto.

However, Blessel outscored I-Cash in the fourth, 36-31 to peg the 8-point victory.

Camota, a Fil-Am cager fresh from the USA, scattered a tournament-high 63 points – by far the highest single game scored in the event while Allan Camota and center Glen Birao combined for 29 points.

Jun Felicitas paced I-Cash with 32 markers while Rey Jumamil and Yok Alesna combined for 38 points.
