MANILA, Philippines — Sherra de Juan, the bride-to-be who had gone missing for 19 days, is now home and has undergone a medical exam, during which she said she experienced nausea, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said on Tuesday.

QCPD Director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio earlier said de Juan was found in Sison, Pangasinan, after a concerned citizen reportedly saw her and coordinated with her family.

In a statement, the QCPD said de Juan returned home in Quezon City at around 1:10 a.m. on Tuesday and underwent an initial medical evaluation.

“Si Sherra ay nagsabi ng kanyang karamdaman sa pagduduwal (nausea). Lumalabas na ilang araw siyang halos tubig lamang ang iniinom at kamakailan ay muling kumain, na maaaring naging sanhi ng kanyang nararamdaman,” the police said.

“Natukoy rin na ang kanyang kondisyon ay posibleng acid-peptic disease o dyspepsia, na karaniwang dulot ng hindi regular na pagkain at biglaang muling pagkain,” it added.

(It was also determined that her condition is possibly acid-peptic disease or dyspepsia, which is often the result of irregular eating and then suddenly eating again.)

Nonetheless, the QCPD noted that de Juan’s vital signs were normal.

She was given the corresponding medication for her nausea and possible acid-peptic disease and advised to eat and rest properly and to have a follow-up consultation in case her condition worsened.

“The QCPD is continuously coordinating with Sherra’s family to ensure her recovery and well-being,” the police said in Filipino.

In a Facebook post earlier on Tuesday, de Juan’s fiancé, Mark Arjay Reyes, thanked the police for their assistance and asked the public to pray for her healing.

“At this time, we are still not fully aware of everything that happened, as my fiancée is not yet able to clearly remember the entire incident. We respectfully ask for understanding as we allow her the time and space to recover,” Reyes explained.
