MPD issues safety tips for Nazareno feast 2026

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Police District (MPD) reminded devotees on Monday to follow safety measures and exercise caution during the observance of the 2026 Black Nazarene feast. 

In a press conference, the MPD shared a short video outlining the do’s and don’ts for the festivities.

“A reminder to all devotees participating in the Black Nazarene feast: carrying umbrellas, knives, or any sharp objects is prohibited,” the recorded message said in Filipino.

“Carrying firearms, setting off firecrackers or pyrotechnics, bringing breakable water containers, and wearing hoodies, caps, or hats are also prohibited,” it added. 

MPD likewise pointed out that bringing bags should be avoided, and if necessary, only transparent ones are permitted. 

Moreover, vendors are only allowed in controlled areas, while bringing processional attendants or replicas of the Black Nazarene is prohibited. 

Police also warned devotees that attending the festivities while intoxicated is strictly forbidden, and participants are advised, as much as possible, not to bring sick relatives or young children. /atm
