Armed men abduct teacher in Misamis Oriental—police

MANILA, Philippine—A male teacher was abducted by armed men in Misamis Oriental on Monday, a police said Wednesday.

Quoting a belated police report, Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., spokesman for the Philippine National Police, said Erwin Respito, officer-in-charge of Hinigdaan National High School, was forcibly taken in Barangay (village) Hinigdaan in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, around 4:30 p.m.

Police said Respito was driving his motorcycle toward Poblacion village when the still unidentified suspects forced Respito to board a red Suzuki minivan, which had no plate number.

The police wer still investigating the incident, according to Cruz.—Jamie Marie Elona
