LRT, MRT to shorten operating hours Dec. 31

MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3 on Monday announced reduced operating hours on Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve.

In a Facebook post, the Light Rail Transit Authority said that the last commercial train from LRT Antipolo Station will depart at 7 p.m., while the last train from Recto Station will leave at 7:30 p.m.

The first trains from both stations will depart at 5 a.m. Regular operations will resume on Jan. 1, 2026.

Meanwhile, on New Year’s Eve, the last MRT-3 train will depart North Avenue Station at 7:45 p.m., while the last train from Taft Avenue Station will leave at 8:23 p.m. 

The first trip from North Avenue Station will be at 4:30 a.m., while the first trip from Taft Avenue Station will be at 5:05 a.m.

On Jan. 1, the first trip from both stations will be at 6:30 a.m. The last train will depart North Avenue Station at 10:30 p.m., while the last train from Taft Avenue Station will leave at 11:09 p.m. /atm
